Our Scheme

Structure

Our scheme is structured to give you a broad clinical experience in order to prepare you for Modern General Practice. You will rotate through 12 months of hospital posts based in South London, and 24 months of primary care with an ITP post allowing experience in one of a number of primary care relevant specialties

scheme overview

Our Half Day Release session takes place on a Thursday afternoon during academic term time at the Weston Education Centre where trainees come together to learn, share their experiences and build life long connections.

We also have three away days per year, including a two day induction in September to support all trainees, with a Christmas and Easter away day to focus on a variety of themes including personal development and career planning.

Hospital Posts

The hospital year (which can be either ST1/2) will be made up of 3 x 4 month posts; a mixture of 3 placements includes O&G, GUM, paediatrics, elderly care and A&E based at King’s College Hospital. Psychiatry experience is provided by South London and the Maudsley and may either be in the Maudsley or within community clinics. We also have a 4 month post in Dermatology based at Guy’s Hospital.
